Putin has dragged himself into war of attrition - military expert Samus
Military expert, New Geopolitics Research Network director Mykhailo Samus believes that the Ukrainian-Western coalition is ready for a war of attrition
He shared his opinions on Espreso TV’s Verdict with Serhiy Rudenko programme.
"Biden's statements are a political manifesto that, against the backdrop of President Zelenskyy's visit to the UK and the EU, demonstrates the existence of an anti-Putin coalition not only in words but in deeds. The British Prime Minister has already announced the training of Ukrainian pilots, which means that the UK can provide us with its Eurofighter jets, which are the best superplanes in the world. Even one squadron of such aircraft will help us to dominate the air in certain areas of the frontline, and this cannot be overestimated in the offensive," Samus emphasized.
The military expert also added that Putin has dragged himself into a war of attrition.
"The EU summit will proclaim the same idea that Europeans will be with Ukraine until victory. Everyone has already realized that Putin will not be able to stop, he has painted himself into a corner. He wanted an easy operation so that Ukraine would fall at his feet. Now Putin is in a situation where he has dragged himself into a war of attrition. Much depends on the unity of NATO, the EU, and the US. Biden's statements and Zelenskyy's visit demonstrate that the Ukrainian-Western coalition is ready for a war of attrition. Now we will see how Putin will react to this. If he reacts only with mobilized troops, he has no chance," Samus said.
