Prigozhin's "march" as trailer for civil war
Everything is just beginning... Of course, we would like Putin's 'cook' to reach Moscow and really stir things up. But it looks like we'll have to wait for a real coup. Although the wait will also be exciting
What do we have as a result of yesterday's march of Prigozhin's Wagner PMC to Moscow?
First, Russia has lost its legitimate leader. Putin fled the capital, his planes disappeared from the radar near Gatchina and Tver. His 'appeal' to the Wagner soldiers and Russians was frankly inadequate to the situation. He was even unable to negotiate with his former bandit cook, delegating them to the amusing President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. And now he is carrying the Kremlin's gratitude around like a sack of pottage, but Lukas will not stop with vanity…
“The system, which had been built and cemented by the FSB for decades, cracked in a single day, demonstrating to the world its inability to respond to crises. Some say that it was the FSB that planned the 'special operation' to mobilize Russian society to show that “there is no Russia without Putin.” But it turned out exactly the opposite…”
Secondly, Kornilov himself... Prigozhin's statement that he has stopped and is returning his thugs to their permanent locations so that “no Russian blood is shed” is hypocritical and cynical. Who else but the Wagner soldiers shot down several expensive helicopters sent by Shoigu to cover the mercenaries with high-explosive bombs? They were not flown by aliens, but by Russian pilots.
For that matter, Prigozhin does not look very attractive in the eyes of Russians either. What about those who believed in the passionate appeal of the Wagner chief and decided to support him? What about those who believed in the passionate call of the Wagner head and decided to support him? Those who were mobilized and rebelled against the Gerasimov-Shoigu commanders to join the 'liberation campaign'? In the end, I have little interest in their fate, but it seems that after such a 'throw' even infantile Russian society realized that in prison you cannot trust anyone.
The atmosphere of distrust, total hatred and anger will corrode the Russian elites like rust, both in the capital and in the regions, the Russian army, and the national suburbs. The legitimacy of anything ends where a dispute is resolved by the right of force alone. Add to this the witch hunt, an essential element of any failed front, as Prigozhin certainly had supporters from the Kremlin's orbit.
“There is no hope that Putin will fulfill his promises, especially since he did not personally voice them. In fact, he only gave an order to physically remove Prigozhin, and it remains in force (despite the alleged closure of the criminal case brought by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office against the "coupists"). Ousted by another bandit, the bandit will certainly look for an opportunity to get even. So now we just have to see who will strike first.”
I'll speak separately about the so-called Russian opposition. I will not describe in detail how sophisticated 'intellectuals' and 'liberals' merged in a chorus of support for a war criminal with a sledgehammer. I will only quote from Mikhail Khodorkovsky's Telegram channel. Responding to accusations of ideological collaboration with Prigozhin, he wrote: “Listen, 'children of flowers' and 'white poltroons', this is your world of 'pink ponies', and ours is the world of dinosaurs, where hundreds and thousands die every day at the front, and where you will end up if the Kremlin's creature remains in power!” Yes, Prigozhin instantly became a 'peacemaker' for Khodorkovsky…
Prigozhin's fake 'putsch' actually turned out to be a trailer for the civil war that will inevitably befall Russia. And Ukrainians will do everything to ensure that the premiere of this feature-length movie begins as soon as possible.
