MLRS missile systems will let Ukraine inflict greater damage on Russian forces - military expert Zhurets
Defense Express’ analyst Serhiy Zhurets says that receiving MLRS missile systems would allow Ukraine do significantly more damage to Russia’s invasion forces on the battlefield.
He shared his thoughts in a live interview for Espreso.
“If we receive MLRS systems, which have an effective range of 70 km, and with rockets - up to 300 km, they would enable us to inflict more damage on Russian troops, their logistics, and destroying important fortified areas.
Getting 90 or 100 M777 howitzers isn’t enough. To gain a noticeable advantage we need at least 5 times more than what we have received as of today.”
The analyst also added that any equipment that in any sense outperforms the Russian equivalents will grant Ukraine's Armed Forces a clear battlefield advantage.
“As of today Ukraine doesn’t have any artillery advantage over Russia. They outnumber us. But I reckon that the M777 howitzers defending Kharkiv and Izyum give our forces a significant advantage, as they have an effective radius of 5-10 km more than the ones the Russians have" the defense expert said.
