Ukrainian military lacks equipment, concrete and timber to build fortifications on the front line — military expert Zgurets
Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets said that the Ukrainian military lacks equipment, concrete and sometimes wood to build effective fortifications directly on the front line
He told about this on the Espreso TV channel
"If we are talking about securing the defense lines and fortifications in the areas where our military are operating, then engineering regiments are forming fortifications there and the units themselves are trying to do so. However, directly on the front line, we have a problem with the lack of equipment, concrete and sometimes timber to equip the trenches that have already been dug. That is, today we have a number of problems that are being solved in an afterburner mode. For a certain period of time we ignored the need for fortifications and are now trying to solve this problem," explained Zgurets.
According to Zgurets, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are also facing a shortage of anti-tank mines.
"Fortifications remain an important and challenging issue for us. However, despite the declarations that we are doing this, it is not always effective in certain areas of the frontline. It is also important for us to solve the problem of the lack of anti-tank mines. According to my estimates, the Defense Forces are currently experiencing a shortage of mines, which need to be put into our minefields," he added.
