Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has called for a ceasefire in the Ukraine war before it escalates and a truce. The Kremlin plans to discuss his proposal
Russian propaganda media reported the information.
Lukashenko proposed to declare a truce without the right to move or regroup troops on the part of both Ukraine and Russia, as well as without the right to transfer weapons, ammunition, and redeploy military equipment.
According to him, Russia will have to use its entire military-industrial complex and army if the West tries to use the truce for its own purposes. He noted that this would be necessary to prevent an escalation of the conflict.
The self-proclaimed president of Belarus emphasized that the only way to end the war is through negotiations without preconditions. At the same time, he was outraged that President Zelenskyy refused to negotiate with Russia.
Earlier, Moscow had repeatedly emphasized that it was ready for talks. At the same time, the peace agreement was supposed to include the accession of the temporarily occupied territories to the Russian Federation. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy refused to hold these talks.
Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, reminded that a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State would be held next week. During the meeting, Lukashenko and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will discuss Minsk's proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
"Nothing changes in the context of Ukraine, the special operation is now the only way to achieve the goals set by Russia," Peskov emphasized.
