On the verge of the 2024 presidential election, the Russian authorities have already informed the regions of the results of the vote. At the same time, they say that voter turnout this year will exceed 70%.

This was reported by the Russian RBC, citing its own sources.

According to the outlet, the presidential election in Russia in 2024 will take place over three days, from 15 to 17 March. The head of the local CEC said that one wave of voter rounds is planned "so as not to bother". However, this is not yet a final decision. It is possible that there will be two waves - it will depend on the specific region and the desire of the regional authorities.

In addition, the Russian Federation reported that two types of billboards are planned to be placed. First, with the election dates, then with the campaign slogan. They also talked about three campaign waves in the media.

At the same time, the Kremlin is preparing for the election campaign on the assumption that Vladimir Putin will be re-elected. RBC's sources say that at one of the seminars, the current president's trust rating was announced at 79% and approval at 76%. They did not specify whose data this is, but according to the latest All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center poll, Putin's trust rating is 78.8% and approval is 75.7%.

Moreover, the benchmarks for turnout in Russia were called "70% plus". Such indicators were explained by the fact that "there is a special situation now, the Special Military Operation (SVO) is underway, and high support is needed."

Later, the Kremlin set a benchmark for the main candidate for the vice-governors - "75% plus". It is reported that the vice-governors for domestic policy also received individual KPIs (key performance indicators - ed.) for each region.

Russia is also afraid of risks that could rock the situation from the outside, including interethnic and interfaith agreement. The Russians are motivating supporters of the main candidate not to stay at home during the election. The media reports that large companies and state corporations in Russia have been ordered to campaign for their employees to vote.

Once again, the triad of "was, is, and will be" was mentioned, which implies that citizens should be aware of Russia's achievements under Vladimir Putin's rule.

  • ISW analysts noted the day before that Putin is likely to avoid the topic of the war in Ukraine during his 2024 presidential campaign. Instead, he will focus on the alleged stability in Russia and criticizing the West.
