"It's definitely overheated, everyone wants another victory" - Reznikov on Ukrainian counteroffensive
Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Ukrainian society has overheated expectations of the upcoming counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Defense Minister said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"It's definitely overheated, everyone wants another victory. We didn't believe in victory before. We wanted at least some minimal survival for Ukraine, to preserve at least some part of Ukraine. But when the Ukrainian Armed Forces showed success, everyone began to believe in victory-after Zmiinyi Island, after Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions, after Kharkiv and Kherson. They want the next victory. It's normal, it's emotions - expectations of success," said Oleksii Reznikov.
In particular, he noted that these are circumstances that cannot be changed: "We agree with the General Staff, and then Hanna Maliar says: 'Guys, don't overestimate your expectations, so that you don't get disappointed later. You will be upset later. It's not that simple, it's a war. And moreover, we won't tell you exactly when, how and where."
