Germany intends to provide Ukraine with additional 40 Marder
Ukraine will receive 20 more Marder IFVs from the Bundeswehr and German industrial warehouses than promised by the federal government
The German Ministry of Defense reported the information.
According to the ministry's report on the annual balance of military aid, 80 Marder IFVs have already been delivered to Ukraine, and another 40 are planned to be financed.
According to preliminary information from the federal government, only 20 additional armored personnel carriers were promised, not 40.
The Ministry also notes that in 2023, the volume of military aid to Ukraine increased significantly. According to their data, last year Ukraine received €1.63 billion worth of materiel. The support increased in 2023, reaching €4.34 billion. Germany has pledged continued assistance over the next five years, committing a total of €4.93 billion to aid Ukraine during this period.
As part of the assistance from the German Armed Forces, over 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers were trained in Germany. Personnel from "all management levels" were also trained in 270 different training courses.
