Norway to finance production of weapons and equipment in Ukraine

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense press service reported the information.

“During a visit to Oslo, we agreed with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram that Norway would join the Danish format of support - direct financing of production in Ukraine. This will allow us to produce and supply the necessary weapons for Ukrainian Defense Forces faster,” the statement said.

In addition, the ministers discussed a new format of cooperation - the “Norwegian model”. This is a new model of investing in Ukrainian defense technology companies. The Ministry of Defense promised to provide details later. 

“I am grateful to Norway for its determination to support Ukraine and readiness to deepen our partnership,” Umerov emphasized.

• The Defence Procurement Agency of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has signed an agreement with the Norwegian Defence Material Agency (NDMA) to deepen cooperation in the military sector.
