German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock arrives in Kyiv
Annalena Baerbock became the first member of the German government to visit Ukraine since the beginning of war, and she started her visit in Bucha.
Deutsche Welle reported her visit.
The first destination in Baerbock's visit to Ukraine was Bucha, where she lit a candle in the church in memory of the victims. After hearing first-hand accounts from people there about the atrocities by Russian forces, she called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
"It's our duty to the victims. These victims, we feel it very much, we could have been these victims."
During her visit to Ukraine Annalena Baerbock is slated to reopen the German Embassy in Kyiv, which was closed in mid-February. She also held talks with her Ukrainian counterpart Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
