UN plans to raise $2.6 billion for Ukraine in 2025
In 2025, the United Nations plans to raise over $2.6 billion to address the humanitarian needs of Ukrainians
This was announced by Ukraine's Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal.
Shmyhal discussed the implementation of the UN's 2025 humanitarian needs and response plan in Ukraine with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
The meeting also covered current and new support programs, including providing drinking water to communities in southern Ukraine, demining, alternative sources of heat and energy, housing restoration, and shelter construction, as well as business development programs.
"We expect all aid programs for Ukrainians to continue and look forward to the UN’s significant contribution to humanitarian demining in Ukraine this year, including through new programs and projects," Shmyhal added.
