48 combat clashes recorded on front line: Russia most active in Pokrovsk sector

On January 15, there have been 48 combat clashes on the front line. The occupying Russian army attacked the Ukrainian forces 17 times in the Pokrovsk direction

This is stated in the summary of Ukraine's General Staff.

Today, Russia's shelling affected the communities in the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

Frontline situation 

In the Kharkiv direction, one combat clash occurred near Tykhe.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions twice near the settlements of Topoli and Petropavlivka, with fighting ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the invading army carried out 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Kopanky, Novoseryhivka, Tverdokhlibove, Makiyivka, Kolodiazi, Terny, and Hryhorivka. As of now, six combat clashes are ongoing. The enemy's aviation carried out strikes using NARs on Zelene Haye.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian assault attempts. The Russian enemy, supported by aviation, is attempting to break through to Predtechyne and the Chasiv Yar area. Additionally, the enemy carried out an airstrike on Minkivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the Defense Forces are repelling two Russian assaults in the area of Toretsk. The enemy also carried out an airstrike using guided aerial bombs on Kramatorsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders made 17 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near the settlements of Baranivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zeleny, Zvyrova, Uspenivka, Andriivka, and Dachne. The Defense Forces are holding the line, repelling 9 Russian attacks, while 8 combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Russian enemy made one attempt to break through Ukrainian defenses near Vremivka. The battle is ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy carried out an airstrike using unguided aerial missiles near Piatykhatky.

In the Kursk direction, since the morning, there have been 11 combat clashes, 8 of which are still ongoing. Additionally, the Russian enemy carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 12 guided bombs.

The General Staff added that there were no significant changes on the remaining sections of the front.

  • On January 14, 170 combat clashes were recorded along the front line. In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made 70 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions.
