The Associated Press reports.
It is noted that this is the first time that Blinken has spoken directly about the possibility that former President Donald Trump could win the November elections and renounce his commitments to Ukraine.
Instead, the secretary of state expresses confidence that, thanks to the support of more than 20 European countries, Ukraine will be able to survive without the support of the United States.
Blinken said on Friday that any new administration will have to take into account the strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in Congress in order to counter Russian leader Vladimir Putin's attempts to expand Moscow's territory and influence.
- Donald Trump, after speaking with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said he wants to "bring peace to the world" and bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.
