Rheinmetall donates 20 more Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine
The German defense concern Rheinmetall has handed over 20 additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles to the Ukrainian army to protect against Russian aggression
The company's press service said in a statement.
Thus, the total number of combat vehicles sent to Ukraine under the so-called ring exchange agreement is about 200 units, of which more than 100 are Marder 1A3 models, the company says. It is noted that the "ring exchange" agreement also provides for the supply of Marder infantry fighting vehicles and Leopard main battle tanks.
Rheinmetall first received an order for the supply of Marder infantry fighting vehicles back in March 2023 and already delivered 20 units for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The last 20 IFVs provided to Ukraine were ordered and financed by the German government.
"The version of the Marder 1A3 that Rheinmetall is supplying to Ukraine is equipped with additional laser rangefinders for efficient and accurate target engagement," the statement says.
- The German defense concern Rheinmetall has received the largest order in the company's history for the supply of 155-mm artillery shells. Some of them will be provided to Ukraine.
- The German military-industrial company Rheinmetall received an order from the Ukrainian government to build an ammunition plant, which was announced in February 2024.
