AFU comment on agreements on Iranian drones production in Russia and possible missiles transferring
Ukrainian Air Forces believe that Russia will not be able to quickly deploy its own production of Iranian drones, but regarding transfer of missiles, they state that "we must prepare for any challenges"
Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman of Air Forces Command, said this live on air of united TV marathon, Ukrinform reports.
Thus, he reacted to the information that Russia agreed with Iran on production of Iranian drones on its territory: "It depends on many factors, first of all, on the desire of countries to deploy all this (production, - ed.). It is clear that it is not about weeks, we are talking about months. It is clear that it will not be fast. Because it is possible to deploy at some capacity, just bring it to places where there is already equipment, but all this takes time. And, as we know, in Russia this process may be a bit long, someone may want to make additional money from it".
Russia itself produces drones, both attack and reconnaissance, Ihnat reminds. He believes that Iran wants to avoid sanctions pressure by handing over blueprints for its drones to Russians.
"War has reached such a stage that more and more drones are appearing, and they pose a threat, it is necessary to defend against it, and to build up such drones ourselves, barrage ammunition that can hit enemy in the rear", spokesman noted.
When asked whether there is still a possibility of Iran transferring missiles to Russia, Ihnat suggested that due to certain diplomatic factors, this process could slow down, but it is worth preparing for everything.
"Perhaps some diplomatic resources, negotiation processes are activated, some countries may be influencing this. Let's hope that terrorist will not get these missiles, because it will make attacks somewhat easier. We can only hope and we must prepare for any challenges", he added.
