Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is connected to Ukraine's energy system
Work to restore the external power supply system, damaged by Russian shelling on November 2, has been completed at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP)
The press service of the IAEA reported this.
It is noted that experts repaired both external power lines at 750 kV and 330 kV. They are necessary for the supply of electricity from the Ukrainian network. Recovery began on Friday afternoon.
“At around 22:00 the 750 kV power supply to all six units of the ZNPP had been re-established, and the eight operating emergency diesel generators turned off and put into standby mode,” Director General Grossi said, citing information he had received from the team of IAEA experts present at the plant.
He added that eight emergency diesel generators had been shut down and put on standby. They provided power supply to the station.
