Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is completely de-energized - Energoatom
Due to Russian shelling, the substation was damaged, and the Zaporizhzhya NPP was completely de-energized
Energoatom reports on Facebook.
"On October 12, at 08:59, because of the missile fire by Russian troops, the Dniprovska substation in the Dnipropetrovsk region was damaged. As a result, the 750kV communication line of the ZANP - Dniprovska was accidentally disconnected. As a consequence, the Zaporizhia NPP was completely de-energized. The diesel generators were switched on automatically," the message says.
According to the information, Energoatom prepared and sent another batch of diesel fuel to the ZNPP. However, the Russian side does not allow the Company's convoy of vehicles to pass.
"Russian shelling and damaging of the energy infrastructure associated with the operation of nuclear plants is the same manifestation of nuclear terrorism as the direct shelling of the ZNPP, and leads to the same consequences and threats of a radiation accident. The occupiers continue to neglect nuclear and radiation safety, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, threatening the world with a radiation catastrophe," Energoatom emphasized.
