Zaporizhzhia NPP is mined, employees are being tortured - Kotin, the head of Energoatom
Power outages at the nuclear power plant could lead to a second Fukushima, in addition, Russians are mining the area around the plant, and employees are being tortured.
Kotin states in an interview with the German ZDF.
"Russians have damaged the administration building, the training center and one of the NPP units, they are stacking equipment and trucks, which creates a high risk of fire. No one knows what is stored in these trucks," he emphasized.
According to Kotin, the situation at the station is difficult, and the danger of a nuclear accident at the ZNPP is high and the situation is only getting worse. The nuclear power plant depends on the power supply, and when the cooling system is stopped, the melting of the reactor fuel rods begins.
"If we lose diesel generators in Zaporizhzhia in this situation, we have the same (as during the Fukushima disaster, - ed.) scenario and we have already been in this mode three times with diesel generators, so we count only on the reliability of diesel - a generator and diesel fuel, which will last for ten days," Kotin said.
At the same time, Russians detained about a hundred workers. According to the head of Energoatom, it is currently unknown what happened to them. He emphasized that "people are forbidden to leave the boundaries of the nuclear power plant."
"We had many cases when they captured personnel. One person was killed, another was shot and wounded," the head of Energoatom added.
