Freedom of Russia Legion: fighting is going in Kursk region, offensive is underway in Belgorod region
Aleksey Baranovsky, a volunteer of the Freedom of Russia Legion, says that in the Kursk region, fighting is already taking place outside the village of Tetkino
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Fighting between Russian volunteers and the Russian army has been going on for a day and a half in the Kursk region in the village of Tetkino. Now the fighting is taking place outside of it," noted Baranovsky.
According to him, Russian volunteers are also conducting offensive operations near several settlements in the Belgorod region.
"The gray zone is moving from the Russian border in quite large parts. But Tetkino has received the most publicity. The situation is not controlled by Putin's troops," he added.
Baranovsky told what forces oppose the volunteers.
"Putin's border guards, who are subordinate to the FSB, received the first blow near the village of Tetkino. They were the first to get it from us and the first to flee. There are also regular army units there that are better or worse fortified. Over the past day, we destroyed at least two armored personnel carriers, two mortars, and two artillery pieces near the village of Tetkino in Belgorod region," he said.
- On the morning of March 12, fighters of the Freedom of Russia Legion from the Russian-Ukrainian border announced that they were going to liberate Russia from dictator Vladimir Putin. The military of the Siberian Battalion reported fierce fighting on the territory of the Russian Federation, while the Freedom of Russia first said it had taken control of the village of Tetkino in the Kursk region, and later clarified that fighting for the village was ongoing.
- Oleksiy Hetman, a reserve major of the National Guard of Ukraine and a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, believes that the raid by the Freedom of Russia Legion is a challenge to Putin and his entourage. In his opinion, if at least one battalion of the Russian Federation goes over to the side of the Russians fighting against Putin, it could trigger a chain reaction in the Russian army.
- On Wednesday, March 13, Russian volunteers continued their raid on Russian territory, calling on residents of Kursk and Belgorod regions to evacuate.
