China calls for "all parties" in Russia-Ukraine war to join peace talks

"China welcomes all efforts dedicated to peace, including the consensus on negotiations reached between the United States and Russia," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun.

He added that China expects all involved parties to participate.

"At the same time, China expects all parties involved and stakeholders to participate in the negotiation process in a timely manner," he stated.

China has long aimed to position itself as a potential peace broker in the war, promoting its own vague proposal for resolving it.

• The U.S. has suggested deploying military forces from non-European countries, including China and Brazil, along a potential ceasefire line in Ukraine.
