If U.S. invades Russia, no one will resist — psychologist

Journalist and psychologist Larysa Voloshyna expressed this opinion in the Vlasni Nazvy project of the Ukrainian PEN and the Espreso TV channel.

According to her, no nation in Europe is capable of the kind of resistance that Ukraine is demonstrating now, as their survival strategy is to surrender.

“And that is what they have done. No, they are capable of fighting on an imperial level — ‘who is the coolest among us.’ ‘We are America’ or ‘Great France’ — they are ready to fight for honor. Just like the Russians, by the way. In reality, they are fighting for honor. We say they are fighting to destroy us. Yes. But why? As long as we exist, they cannot be great,” Voloshyna noted.

The psychologist believes that from Russia’s side, the war is being waged precisely for this sense of honor and grandeur.

“By the way, I am more than certain that if the U.S. were to come at them with full force right now, hypothetically, no one would resist. Remember how they didn’t resist that thug Prigozhin? (referring to the mutiny led by Wagner PMC chief Yevgeny Prigozhin in the summer of 2023 – ed.). I think they would react the same way to an American or Chinese army — without question. Because where honor is involved, it is entirely a psychological matter, and it explains a lot,” Larysa Voloshyna emphasized.

• Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Institute of World Policy, Yevhen Mahda, believes that the U.S. and Russia will not be able to reach geopolitical understanding after their first meeting.
