Weapons for Ukraine, pressure on Russia and unification of Europe: Zelensky names three aspects of victory in speech before Slovak Parliament
In a speech to the Slovak Parliament Zelensky stressed the importance of further strengthening of Ukraine arms and sanctions against Russia, as well as speeding up EU membership.
In a speech before the National Council of Slovakia, Volodymyr Zelensky thanked for defense support and called for further work in this direction.
"I can say on behalf of all our people, that Ukraine will always remember that Slovakia has helped our country at a crucial time. There is potential to extend this cooperation. In particular, on aircraft - planes and helicopters," said Zelensky.
He also stressed the importance of continuing and strengthening sanctions against Russia and, despite all the difficulties, disengaging from it in terms of energy for Europe.
"We were the first to see Russia violating agreements when they just stopped pleasing it. We saw as Russia turned commercial links to the chain to keep close to a state. Russia is trying to use gas to hold the entire European continent."
The third aspect Zelensky called Ukraine's membership in the European Union and the consolidation of most European countries:
"More unity in Europe is possible only in one case - if Ukraine right now during war will get a real opportunity to join the European Union. The issue of granting Ukraine the status of a candidate member of the EU in June this year is the issue of protecting the entire European project."
