We do everything to create tribunal - Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that the tribunal that will punish war crimes of Russia from 2014 will definitely be created.
Zelenskyy said this in his evening address.
"Unfortunately, the existing international legal instruments are not enough for justice. Even in the International Criminal Court, it is still impossible to bring to justice the highest political and military leadership of Russia for the crime of aggression against our state which is the primary crime. A crime which gave rise to all other crimes of this war, not only after February 24, but also since 2014. That's when it all started," Ukrainian president said.
However, Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that the Ukrainian side is already working on creating such a tribunal.
"To be responsible for aggression, we need a special tribunal in addition to the International Criminal Court. And we are doing everything possible to create such a tribunal. The address of the first lady of Ukraine to the parliament and the people of Great Britain was devoted to this task today. Olena's visit to the United Kingdom is currently underway. And on behalf of all Ukrainian men and women affected by Russian aggression, she called on the UK to become a leader in global efforts to establish a special tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine and to restore justice," the president's address reads.
