Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar said that military medics and the most experienced surgeon of the Armed Forces Andriy Verba removed an unexploded grenade from the body of a serviceman

Hanna Maliar wrote about the unique surgery on Facebook.

The grenade could detonate at any moment, so the operation was performed without electrocoagulation and under the supervision of two sappers who ensured the safety of medical personnel.

Maliar reported that the surgery was successful, and the wounded serviceman was sent for further rehabilitation and recovery.
