Ukrainian forces' initial request for 155mm artillery is 90% fulfilled - Reznikov
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said that the armed forces' request for 155mm caliber artillery has been 90% fulfilled, but that their needs are constantly growing due to intense fighting
The Ukrainian Defense Minister shared the update in his Telegram channel.
"I want to emphasize that the Defense Ministry has already 90% fulfilled the initial request from the Armed Forces for 155mm caliber artillery. This initial request will be 100% fulfilled within 1-2 weeks. But the circumstances on the battlefield are changing and the need is growing. The General Staff is responding to changes in the operational situation and the Defense Ministry adjusts the task list in line with the General Staff's requests. We already have a clear plan for artillery supply to the end of July," Reznikov said.
The demand for weapons is formed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff, the requirements vary depending on the needs and activity of hostilities.
"The received weapons and equipment are centrally transferred by the Defense Ministry to the Armed Forces. Distribution is carried out by the Armed Forces Command, as it sees the general picture, forms the plan of operations and determines priorities," the minister added.
