Ukrainian troops have begun using long-range Storm Shadow missiles provided by the United Kingdom to strike Russian targets, two US and Western officials familiar with the matter told CNN on Tuesday.
A spokesman for Ukraine's Defense Ministry declined to comment.
The Storm Shadow is a long-range cruise missile with stealth capabilities, jointly developed by the United Kingdom and France, which is usually launched from the air. It has a range of over 250 km, or 155 miles.
- On May 9, it became known that the United Kingdom was preparing to send Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 300 km.
- On May 11, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed the delivery of long-range missiles to Ukraine.
- On May 15, Macron said that as part of a new aid package, France would provide Ukraine with long-range missiles.
