"Russian accusations of Ukraine's use of a "dirty bomb" are a provocation of escalation" General Malomuzh
Mykola Malomuzh, general with the Ukrainian army, head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service (2005-2010), believes that Russia's strategic message is to accuse Ukraine of subversive terrorist acts that the Russian forces may carry out in temporarily occupied or other territories of Ukraine
He shared his opinion with Espreso TV.
“The aggressor's troops are losing in all directions, so their new commander Surovikin uses, according to him, non-traditional methods, namely terror, intimidation and provocations. Today, they would like to form an opinion among the citizens of Russia and the world that in Ukraine there are no nationalists and fascists, but rather terrorists, who blew up the Crimean bridge as a civil infrastructure object, and also that we are preparing to blow up the Kakhovka Dam. During the threat of losing the regime and control, let alone losing the war, Russia is ready for any false-flag attacks on various scales,” the general said.
Mykola Malomuzh noted that there is nothing to restrain Putin if he sees the systemic defeat and fall of his regime.
“To support such positions, the Russian forces went to the absurd strategic level of accusing Ukraine of using a "dirty bomb", as if we are violating all the principles of international law regarding the non-use of nuclear capabilities in the conduct of war. That is, they accuse us of what they themselves threaten us with. Russia is trying to provoke a model of confrontation with Ukraine and accuse us of terrorist threats, of preparing some sort of bomb. All advanced countries of the world have already understood and issued statements that this is an absurd situation and a provocation of escalation. It is clear that we are not necessarily talking about nuclear escalation, but it can be sabotage, terrorist acts in the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian forces or in the territories of our state, in order to later blame Ukraine for it. This is a strategic message today, which they will try to implement in practice,” Malomuzh explained.
