“A Yak-130 training aircraft crashed on the border between Kalmykia and Volgograd region, the pilot ejected,” the report said.
The pilot was reportedly seriously injured and hospitalized.
Background. In Russia, these aircraft are part of the training aviation regiments of the Aerospace Forces and are used for the practical training of pilots.
The Yak-130 twin-engine jet is specifically designed to train pilots in conditions that simulate combat scenarios, allowing for the conditional or real use of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons.
