Ukrainian army tells when Russia may launch assaults in Zaporizhzhia sector, how they prepare for it
The Russian army is currently conducting reconnaissance and search operations in the Zaporizhzhia sector, but may launch assaults in a week
This was announced by the spokesman for the Southern Defence Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn during a telethon.
‘So far, they (Russian troops - ed.) have not started these assaults. But I would like to say that the enemy is already concentrating the personnel of these assault groups on the front lines,’ he said.
The spokesman stressed that the Russian forces are currently conducting reconnaissance and search operations for intelligence. According to him, the Russian Federation may start assault operations in a week.
‘And in the near future — it will be about 3-5 days, or even up to a week — they will start conducting these assault operations with small groups of infantry in order to capture some of our positions and improve its tactical position, changing the configuration of the combat clash in their favor,’ Voloshyn added.
At the same time, he stressed that Ukrainian intelligence has not yet detected the creation of Russian offensive groups.
‘That is, these assault groups are currently being formed from Russian units and formations operating in this area. In addition, they are creating units that will be used for consolidation. That is, an assault group consisting of small infantry groups of 5 to 10 people will carry out assaults, and they will be followed by consolidation groups that will hold the captured positions and lines,’ explained the spokesman.
- On October 3, the battalion commander of the 31st separate mechanized brigade (call sign Riddick) noted that the Russian enemy had significantly increased artillery in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
