Russia amasses forces for assault operations: 31st Brigade commander on Tavria direction
The battalion commander of the 31st Detached Mechanized Brigade (call sign ‘Riddick’) noted that Russian enemy has significantly increased artillery in the Zaporizhzhia direction
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
‘Over the past week and a half, the enemy has significantly increased numbers of artillery in our direction - from mortars to large-caliber systems. The enemy's movement between its positions has also increased significantly. We are able to detect the enemy in advance and inflict fire on them,’ the commander said.
According to the battalion commander of the 31st Detached Mechanized Brigade, new Russian troops have entered the Zaporizhzhia sector, but the old units have not left their positions.
‘That is, the old units continue to hold the defense, while the new ones are likely to be involved in assault operations. Airborne assault troops are here, and new mechanized units have entered,’ the commander explained.
The battalion commander of the 31st Detached Mechanized Brigade also added that Russian enemy's manpower advantage is significant, and the Russian troops continue to amass strength.
‘No significant number of enemy armored vehicles have been spotted so far. If there is any, it is in an area that we cannot control with our means. The enemy has begun to restore its old positions, which indicates that it plans to further accumulate forces in its formerly defeated positions. After the accumulation, it is likely to start moving forward for assault operations,’ the commander emphasized.
