Situation in Ukraine's Kurakhove worsens, evacuation of residents prepared in advance
Civilians are being evacuated from the Donetsk region under Russian shelling. The situation in Kurakhove is critical, with evacuation plans set in advance
Pavlo Dyachenko, the head of the communications department of the Donetsk regional police, shared this update on Radio Svoboda.
"The situation is extremely tough; evacuation is ongoing, but it requires careful planning. To avoid putting civilians at even greater risk, the process has to be swift — completed in the shortest time possible. Recently, around ten people were evacuated along with their pets — dogs, cats — all while Kurakhove was under enemy fire," he stated.
He highlighted that Russian attacks pose the primary threat during evacuations, with enemy forces deliberately targeting civilian transport.
Dyachenko emphasized that the greatest danger during these evacuations comes from enemy strikes using KABs, artillery, and FPV drones.
"They’re attacking from all directions, hitting civilian cars. There’s no question that they’re aware these are civilian vehicles — small cars with people inside, posing no threat," he said.
- On Tuesday, November 12, the Russian forces targeted the village of Bilenke in the Donetsk region, injuring a 16-year-old boy.
