Russian counteroffensive in Kursk region failed long ago, says military observer
Russia's counteroffensive in the Kursk region has failed, although the task of liberating the territories from the Ukrainian Armed Forces remains
Military observer Denys Popovych shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"The Russian counteroffensive towards Snagost has failed. They were unable to break through the left flank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces group and now face a threat to their own flank after Ukrainian troops crossed the border at a new location in the Glushkovsky district. There's also been another incursion into the Kursk region from our side.
We can now say the Russian offensive has been failing for some time, although Western analysts are only now highlighting this. In fact, it became clear two weeks ago that the Russian offensive would not succeed," he stated.
Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region are trying to advance further, the military observer said.
“There are advances, although they are not as fast and significant as they were in the first days of the Kursk offensive. The enemy is also concentrating its forces there. Obviously, they will continue to try to advance, as the task of liberating the Kursk region from our presence remains. I don't think they will leave it at that. But, as we can see, the plan is one thing, and the reality is another,” added Popovych.
