It is noted that Orbán held "intensive talks" to initiate a "peace summit" between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The article states that the Hungarian prime minister's plans are supported by 15 countries within the "Friends of Peace" platform announced by China. In addition to Budapest, Beijing, and Brazil, France and Switzerland will also participate.
At the same time, it is mentioned that negotiations are currently underway to hold a "peace summit."
"Orbán seems determined to advance his peace talks. His goal is to re-engage Europeans and set the course before the U.S. elections. Given that the readiness for talks in Kyiv and Moscow is not overly pronounced, international pressure should now lead to a breakthrough for a ceasefire," the newspaper writes.
