Russia fires 13 missiles at military airfield, railway in Kirovohrad region, killing, injuring people
On July 23, Russian forces have carried out a massive rocket attack in the Kirovohrad region and hit the Kanatove military airfield and the Ukrainian railways facility, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
Kirovohrad regional military administration head, Arkady Raykovych, shared the news in his Telegram channel.
"Morning with enemy shelling. 13 missiles: 8 sea-based Caliber missiles and 5 Kh-22 missiles from the TU-22M3 aircraft. They targeted infrastructure facilities outside the regional center. In particular, the Kanatove military airfield and one of the Ukrainian railways facilities. There are dead and wounded. Rescue and pyrotechnic units are working on the spot," Raykovych wrote.
He added that part of one of the microdistricts in the regional center is currently without electricity. Oblenergo emergency teams are working.
Later, Raykovych added on the air of a national telethon that at least three people were killed according to preliminary data.
"Currently, rescue operations are underway and the necessary assistance is being provided to the injured people. Among them are servicemen - nine injured and one killed. Two guards of the transformer substation were previously killed," said Raykovych.
As of 10:30, the number of injured has increased to thirteen.
