Russia imposes mandatory drone training for 5th-6th grade students in occupied Kherson region
Russian forces have implemented a mandatory drone control course for middle school students in the temporarily occupied Kherson region
This information comes from the National Resistance Center.
Reportedly, students at a school in Blahodatne, after completing theoretical lessons, participated in a competition to demonstrate their drone piloting skills.
The participants in these "races" were 5th- and 6th-grade students.
Additionally, Russia has introduced a module on UAV technology in labor classes within the occupied territories. The focus appears to be on teaching the technology, design, and assembly of drones for military purposes.
The Center further noted that students are being actively encouraged to pursue technical fields, with an emphasis on future employment at military factories.
"The Kremlin sees UAV control as a key skill for preparing youth for military service. Their aim is to recruit as many young people as possible into military structures and the defense industry. These actions once again violate international law by using the civilian population for military purposes," the Center stated.
As of September 1, 2024, Russian forces have also introduced compulsory military education for 8th- and 10th-grade students in schools within the occupied territories.
