The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, considers the AFU withdrawal from Bakhmut possible in order to save the personnel
He said this in a Radio Liberty interview .
"We take every scenario into consideration. But we keep fighting on the defense lines and we take maximum measures to prevent this from happening," commented Kyrylenko on the possibility of the AFU withdrawal from Bakhmut.
The official emphasized that our defenders' lives is one of the priorities – we are not going to hold the city at the cost of human lives.
"Life and health of our defenders is one of the main priorities. Therefore, nobody’s going to use them as cannon fodder. For now, Bakhmut is standing. We are doing everything in our power to liquidate as many Russians as possible to slow down their offensive," Kyrylenko said.
