Russian forces reduce attacks in Kupyansk sector but do not abandon their plans — Ukrainian army officer
Major Nadiia Zamryha, spokesperson for the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, says the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted significant losses on the Russian troops in the Kupyansk sector
She said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The brigade is in the Kupyansk sector. The Russian troops have reduced attacks, but have not abandoned their intentions. We have seen this situation before. The invaders work in waves, pulling up reserves. When the number of attacks exceeds 10-15, the enemy tries to find weaknesses. Russian infantry moves in, heavy and automotive equipment moves out, bringing in fuel and food. When the Russians suffer losses, having been kicked in the teeth, they do not take their dead and wounded. They retreat to their positions, and for several days we have less than 10 attacks. This is the current period," noted Zamryha.
According to the spokesperson for the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, the Russians suffered significant losses in the Kupyansk sector, especially in manpower. "Currently, the Russian troops are trying to replenish their manpower. Most of them are mobilized people who have recently served their sentences in prisons, and there are a lot of them. We expect more attacks from the enemy soon," emphasized Zamryha.
- Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in 8 directions in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also eliminated 800 Russian soldiers and 13 armored vehicles over the last day.
