Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian attacks in 8 frontline areas — General Staff

The Ukrainian army fought off Russian attacks in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. The armed forces also eliminated 800 Russian troops and destroyed 13 armored vehicles in 24 hours

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to January 10, 24 are approximately as follows:

General Staff report: Ukraine repelled Russian attacks in 8 sectors, mostly in Avdiivka 

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, defenders beat back 8 Russian troops' attacks near Synkivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off 5 attacks east of Terny and Vesele in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 3 Russian attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders deterring the Russian forces, which are trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces thwarted 11 hostile attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and Sievierne and 13 more near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region over the last day.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian forces in the areas of Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces repelled 15 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed Russian attack near Staromayorsk, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian forces' attacks west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, the invading Russian army continues trying to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions. Over the past day, the Russian forces conducted 9 unsuccessful assaults on the Ukrainian positions.

Ukrainian defense forces destroyed the Russian troops' concentration area and 2 artillery units

Ukrainian defenders continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying Russian forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 9 areas where Russian troops were concentrated. Missile forces hit the area where Russian troops concentrated personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 artillery units.

Russian army launches 5 missile strikes, 52 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, 77 clashes took place at the frontline.

In total, the Russian troops launched 5 missile strikes, 52 air strikes (using 3 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, of which 1 was destroyed), fired 53 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

6 settlements in the Kharkiv region; Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region; 8 settlements in Donetsk region were hit by air strikes.

About 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

  • Russia calls for a large-scale offensive in the Kharkiv region to create a "buffer zone" with the Belgorod region.
