Lukashenko is a terrorist: windows smashed in Belarusian Embassy in the Netherlands
On the night of Saturday to Sunday, 2 July, the Belarusian Embassy in The Hague was damaged: windows were smashed and slogans were painted on the walls
This is reported by Omroep West.
The published photos show red and black inscriptions, including the inscription: "Luka is a terrorist". In addition, there are inscriptions left in Cyrillic, in particular, "Live Belarus". It can also be seen that three windows in the building have been smashed.
Law enforcement officers are currently investigating, and traces have been removed from the premises. A 31-year-old man was detained on suspicion of attacking the embassy.
D66 MP Sjoerd Sjoerdsma condemned the attack on the embassy.
"No matter how rightly you are angry with the regime of Belarus, Russia or other countries, do not attack their embassies or residences," he wrote.
According to Sjoersma, this increases the insecurity of Dutch diplomats abroad. "You are not helping anyone and you are making our diplomats in these countries more vulnerable," he added.
