General Romanenko tells what weapons Ukraine could have used to strike airfields near Berdyansk and Luhansk
Ihor Romanenko, retired lieutenant general and founder of ‘Let's Close the Skies of Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation, suggested what weapons the Armed Forces could have used to strike Russian helicopters and airfields near the temporarily occupied Luhansk and Berdyansk
He spoke about this on the Espreso TV channel.
"There is no official confirmation yet. But from the military weapon point of view, such a defeat can be inflicted by cluster weapons, which is very important. Such weapons can hit both enemy manpower and aircraft that are not fully protected on the ground. Anyway, this weapon effectively influenced the circumstances, hit Russia's assets, and there is a further perspective on this. We will know everything in the near future," Romanenko said.
According to him, it is important for Ukraine to destroy Russia's means of attacking the Ukrainian Defense Forces. As a result of Ukraine's successful strikes on airfields, the Russian forces have suffered losses in manpower, weapons and equipment.
"The fact itself is important because the Ukrainian Armed Forces are striking not only in the east, but also in Crimea. The geography of strikes on Russian territory has also expanded. This is a promising sign, as our military-industrial complex enterprises are gaining momentum with the production of various types of attack drones, missile weapons, etc. Despite the fact that the enemy is hunting for these facilities and enterprises, the process of developing new models is gaining momentum," Ihor Romanenko summarized.
