All threats from Russia are taken into account: NATO and EU sign joint declaration
For the first time in the last 5 years, the EU and NATO signed an updated Joint Declaration on Cooperation to deepen strategic partnership and strengthen support for Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a press conference in Brussels, "European Pravda" reports
Stoltenberg noted that because of Russia's attack on Ukraine, this declaration is more important than ever before.
"We have just signed the third EU-NATO joint declaration to further deepen strategic partnership. This is more important than ever. President Putin wanted to seize Ukraine in three days and divide us. He failed on both counts," Stoltenberg said.
He stated that now it is necessary to strengthen transatlantic ties and partnership between EU and NATO, and also, according to him, it is necessary to "strengthen support for Ukraine."
In addition, Stoltenberg noted that China's behavior also requires corresponding response from allies.
Ukraine expects the EU's assessment of the implementation of seven recommendations this spring. Ukraine's further path to the EU will depend on this assessment. The government of Ukraine has already adopted more than 70 laws necessary for implementation of Association Agreement.
