Zelenskyy: We will not surrender a single centimeter of our land
In Donetsk region, despite large-scale losses, Russian forces remain active and carry out dozens of attacks against the city.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported the situation on different directions in his evening address on November 8.
Zelenskyy emphasized that despite the fact that in the information space we are observing a certain decrease in the number of news from the frontline, this does not mean that the intensity of the fighting has lessened.
"The situation is difficult throughout the entire contact line. Fierce battles for positions still go on in certain directions, the situation is especially difficult in the Donetsk region. Russian troops conduct a particularly high number of operations there, launching dozens of attacks every day. They suffer extremely large-scale losses, but their order has not changed - they still have to seize the territory up to the administrative border of Donetsk region. We will not surrender a single centimeter of our land there. And I thank all our heroes who are holding their positions in Donbas," he said.
As for the Kherson region, Zelenskyy noted that in this direction the Ukrainian army is acting "carefully, thoughtfully and with the interest of liberating our entire territory in mind." Soldiers are strengthening their positions, disrupting Russian logistics, and destroying the enemy's potential to occupy the south part of our country.
In the east direction, the Ukrainian army is moving step by step towards returning the Ukrainian flag to all cities and communities. It continues to fortify borders.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues restoring normal life in the de-occupied regions. Gas and electricity supply was repaired for more than a thousand households in two districts of Kharkiv region over the past day.
"Repair work is also underway at all those energy facilities that were affected by the recent Russian strikes. As of this evening, about 4 million Ukrainians in 14 regions and the city of Kyiv are cut off from electricity supply. But most of the blackouts are scheduled, not emergency," added Zelensky.
