Zelenskyy names condition for negotiations with Russia
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that he is ready for negotiations with Russia, provided that it recognizes itself as the occupier
Zelensky made the statement in an interview with CNN.
“But I haven’t closed the door. I said we would be ready to talk to Russia – but with a different Russia. One that is truly ready for peace. One that is ready to recognize that they are occupiers… And so far, I haven’t heard statements like that from the Russian Federation – either from Putin or from anyone else,” the President stressed.
He also declared that he insists on the return of all Ukrainian territories, including Crimea, in order to restore justice.
Russia stubbornly does not recognize itself as the aggressor, repeating the same narrative alleging it protects people from the "criminal regime of Zelenskyy". On November 10, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev stated that the so-called "special military operation" in Ukraine is actually a humanitarian and humanist mission.
