Zelenskyy asks G7 leaders to strengthen air shield over Ukraine by providing modern air defense, missile defense systems
The key element of Russian terror - missile strikes - will not be effective when Ukraine receives a sufficient quantity of modern air defense and missile defense systems
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during his address to the G7 leaders.
The President of Ukraine asks world leaders to strengthen defense support for Ukraine by improving the air shield over Ukraine. After all, when Ukraine receives a sufficient number of modern and effective air defense and missile defense systems, the key element of Russian terror - missile strikes - will cease to work.
"I thank Germany and Chancellor Scholz for speeding up the supply of IRIS. I thank the US and personally President Biden for the decision to provide modern anti-missile and air defense systems. And we believe, Mr. President, that these will also be medium and long-range systems that will make it possible to create an echelon system of defense. I thank everyone who has already helped us secure our air defense system, which makes it possible to neutralize part of Russian missiles and drones," Zelenskyy said.
He also added that it is important that Ukraine has a sufficient number of missiles for the provided air defense and missile defense systems and that these systems are integrated with the defense system:
"Tomorrow, in the format of Ramstein, I would ask that our defense ministers discuss this."
In addition, Zelenskyy addressed the President of France and the Prime Minister of Italy:
"We are very much looking forward to the delivery of the SAMP-T systems. And if possible, we need them already in the coming months."
