Zelensky awards Pelosi with the Order of Princess Olga
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has met with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and awarded her with the Order of Princess Olga.
The Presidential Office shared the details.
Zelensky met with Pelosi the morning of May 1, and awarded her with the Order of Princess Olga as a token of gratitude for US support for Ukraine.
“I thank you for this signal of strong support from the United States, its people, and Congress. Today the United States is the leading power offering strong support for Ukraine during the war on Russian aggression. The signals that the United States and President Biden are sending today are very important. These include recent strong steps in defense and financial support for Ukraine, as well as the decisions on lend lease,” Zelensky said.
Pelosi noted that Ukraine is fighting heroically for freedom, and that the United States is ready to help it until this struggle is over. The borders of Ukraine are the borders of freedom, she said.
