White House reacts to Russia's military action in, around Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant
The US calls on Russia to stop all military action on and near Ukraine's nuclear facilities and to return full control to Ukraine

A representative of the National Security Council of the US, at the request of the Voice of America, commented on the situation surrounding the largest nuclear power plant in Europe - the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP).
So far, the White House said, citing data from the US Department of Energy and the US National Nuclear Security Administration, no unusual levels of radiation have been recorded. The US continues to monitor the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
The agency highly appreciated Ukraine's professionalism and commitment to compliance with nuclear safety standards.
"We are also aware of reports of negative treatment of Zaporizhzhia NPP employees and we highly appreciate the commitment to nuclear safety shown by the Ukrainian authorities and operators in these difficult circumstances", the representative of the US National Security Council said.
The official also expressed his support for the IAEA's efforts to help Ukraine in the field of nuclear power plant safety.
