US doesn't issue visa to Russia's Internal Affairs Minister for UN event
Washington has not issued visas to the Russian delegation led by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, to participate in a meeting of the heads of the UN police services
This is written by Interfax with reference to the Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.
Kolokoltsev and other law enforcement officers were going to visit the US to participate in the summit of the heads of police services of the UN countries. However, the entire delegation was denied US visas.
Nebenzya called it "a flagrant violation of the commitments and obligations of the UN headquarters agreement".
After the start of Russia's war against Ukraine, Vladimir Kolokoltsev came under EU and UK sanctions. And the US put him on the sanctions list back in April 2018, he got there along with other Russian security forces on suspicion of meddling in the US elections. However, in June of the same year, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received the US visa to participate in a similar event under the auspices of the UN.
