Ukrainian troops try to stop gray areas expansion: officer from Avdiivka sector
Officer with the Freedom Legion Maksym Morozov says that any expansion of the gray zone around Avdiivka would pose a threat to the encirclement of the city
He said this on Espreso TV.
"The situation in the Avdiivka sector is quite difficult. The Defense Forces are trying to stop the expansion of gray areas by all means available. For a certain period, these gray zones did not pose a threat. At the moment, any further expansion of the gray zone, especially in the Berdychi-Stepove area, will pose a certain threat to the encirclement of Avdiivka. But so far, this threat is not what our enemies would like it to be. The main fighting continues in the area of the railroad tracks, the enemy is not sparing manpower," emphasized Morozov.
According to a Freedom Legion officer, the Russian forces are systematically turning Avdiivka into a pile of construction waste.
"After huge losses of equipment, the occupiers are focusing on the use of infantry. The enemy is also heavily using aviation, trying to completely destroy Avdiivka to make it harder for Ukrainian defenders to defend the city," Morozov noted.
- There were 69 combat engagements in the frontline over the last day. Ukrainian defenders repelled about 68 Russian attacks in key frontline areas and eliminated another 800 invaders.
- With the onset of unfavorable weather conditions, the Ukrainian military will try to cut off supply routes to Russian militants and freeze them.
