Ukrainian Armed Forces strike Russian command post, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, and military positions — General Staff

This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Additionally, during the day, missile troops and artillery targeted the enemy's command post, four areas where enemy troops were concentrated, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition warehouse, 27 artillery units in firing positions, an air defense device, two electronic warfare stations, and another important enemy facility.

The situation in different regions of Ukraine

The enemy's main focus remains on the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Marinka directions, resulting in ongoing heavy fighting. There were 46 combat clashes throughout the day. 

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting over 15 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. One area in the Kharkiv region suffered from air strikes. 

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 2 settlements. They also shelled 5 settlements across the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 3 settlements and shelled over 10 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions with artillery.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops launched air strikes near 3 settlements and shelled about 15 settlements in the Donetsk  region with artillery.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian forces shelled over 10 settlements with artillery. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops attacked 4 more settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched air strikes on 1 settlement and shelled over 15 others. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops tried to prevent Ukraine’s advance and shelled over 30 towns and villages across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Russia launched 1 missile strike, 27 air strikes, and 80 MLRS attacks against Ukraine 

The Russian army carried out 80 attacks using multiple rocket launchers, launched one missile, and conducted 27 air strikes on Ukraine.

The General Staff has emphasized that there is a high likelihood of missile and air strikes occurring across the entire territory of Ukraine.

It has been reported that on the night of July 2, the Russian army launched another air and missile attack on Ukrainian territory. Information regarding the consequences of this act of terrorism is currently being verified.

• Anti-aircraft fire was activated in the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions on the night of July 2. The Kyiv city military administration reported that this is the first attack by Iranian drones on the capital in the past 12 days. All enemy targets in the airspace around Kyiv were detected and destroyed by our air defense forces.
