Soon we'll have two Victory Days in Ukraine and someone won't have any - Zelensky addressed Ukrainians on May 9

Ukrainian President published his video address in his Telegram channel.

"There is nothing more dangerous than a treacherous enemy, but there is nothing more poisonous than a fake friend," the president quoted the great Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda.

"It's a war not between two armies. It's a war of two worldviews. Barbarians, who set the Skovoroda (Ukrainian philosopher - Ed.) museum on fire and believe that their missiles can destroy our philosophy. It annoys them. It's strange to them. It frightens them. It's about us, free people who go their own way," said Zelensky.

He also stressed that Ukraine won't give Russians a piece of its territory or a piece of its history.

"Our enemy wanted us to refuse to celebrate May 9 and the victory over Nazism. To give the word 'denazification' a chance. Millions of Ukrainians fought against Nazism and went a difficult and long way for it. They liberated Luhansk from Nazis, drove them from Donetsk, Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk. Defeated them in Yalta, Simferopol, Kerch and all the Crimea. They liberated Mariupol from Nazis. They drove the Nazis from all over Ukraine and mentioned cities especially inspire us today. They give faith that we will definitely drive Russians from our own land," said the president.

Zelensky said that on the Victory Day over Nazism, we're fighting for another victory. The path to it is difficult, but we have no doubt that we will win.

"We are proud of our ancestors, which together with other nations in the anti-Hitler coalition defeated Nazism. We won't allow anyone to annex this victory, we won't give them this opportunity. We wouldn't know grief if all our enemies could read and draw correct conclusions. On February 24, Russia launched the attack. Again. They're following the path of every occupier who comes to our land. We have experienced various wars but they all had one ending. Bullets and shells tore our land, but no enemy could put its roots here. There are no bonds that can tie our free spirit," the president added.

Zelensky said that the advantage of Ukrainian defenders is that they fight not "for the king, Hitler, the party or the leader." They fight for their country.

"We never fought against anyone. We're fighting for ourselves. For our freedom. For our independence. For our ancestors' victory wasn't in vain. They fought for freedom and for us to win. We're fighting for their freedom, for the freedom of our children, and thus we will win. We will never forget what our ancestors did in WWII. When more than eight million Ukrainians were killed. Every fifth Ukrainian didn't return home. Overall, the war has claimed at least 50 million lives. We don't say "we can repeat." Only a madman can want to repeat the 2194 days of war. One who is already repeating the horrific crimes of the Hitler regime today is following the Nazi philosophy, copying everything they did. He is doomed. Because he was cursed by millions of ancestors when he began to imitate their killer. Therefore he will lose everything. Soon there will be two days of victory in Ukraine.
